Kinchaku simply means "purse."
Another name for this bag is Komebukuro, or Japanese Rice Bag.
Historically, Komebukuro bags were utilitarian, but with Sashiko* stitching, they become decorative items, often gifted or displayed as craft pieces.
This has a drawstring closure at the top for closure. Closing the drawstrings creates plenty of storage.
This pattern, Asanoha or Hemp Leaf, was hand stitched by Joyce.
Use it as a purse, tote, or decor piece. Perhaps place a potted plant within?
